Wednesday June 4 from 5-8 pm Gallery Reception for James Craig, Esq Craig James, a somewhat self-proclaimed artist is a native of rural eastern North Carolina. He believes growing up in rural eastern North Carolina was the driving force behind his creative mind. He watched members of the community whittling, quilting, building, and fabricating so many things. Now he understands, that in the small town of Maple Hill, North Carolina, he was watching artists creating works of art. As an adult, he found himself carving on sticks and later doing steampunk pieces. In 2008 he painted his first acrylic on canvas. He only dabbled in creating art for more than the next decade until 2020 when the pandemic hit. With time on his hand and a creative mind, he started to paint and build and carve and sew. His love to create arose from its slumber. He has works of acrylic on canvas, mixed media on canvas, (all abstracts), abstract wooden carvings, and steampunk pieces.
